Dates that change the trip

Plan a stay around Korea's public holidays

Seollal and Chuseok are major family holidays. Their Gregorian dates change each year, and an ordinary weekday timetable is not enough to plan a holiday journey.

Check your actual dates

Use the current official holiday calendar, including substitute holidays. Read each attraction's own closure notice rather than assuming that every museum, restaurant or shop opens or closes together. Holiday programmes and admission arrangements also change.

Arrange travel before the stay

Major holidays bring strong demand for intercity trains and buses. Check transport availability before committing to a sequence of non-refundable stays. Leave time for the journey from the arrival station to your accommodation.

Confirm the small essentials

Ask the property about reception hours, late arrival and luggage storage for your dates. Identify an alternative meal option nearby, and keep a flexible indoor plan. A district's usual opening pattern is not a guarantee for an individual business during a holiday.
